A specialist mechanical contractor are looking to add to their exsisting commercial team. The company work on mechanical projects with values of up to over £6 million across a wide range of sectors including fast track CAT A & B fit outs including new and refurbishment offices, health and welfare, leisure, retail, historic and sound studios.
Your new role
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all commercial aspects of projects, including cost control, budget management, and subcontractor management.
- Conduct accurate and detailed cost estimates, procurement, and tender processes.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of projects.
- Identify and mitigate commercial risks while maximising project profitability.
- Review and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Monitor project financial performance and provide regular reports to senior management.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.
- Mentor and support junior members of the commercial team.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Minimum of 5+ experience working as a Quantity Surveyor.
- Strong understanding of contracts and relevant regulations.
- Experience working in the M&E industry or main contractor
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in cost estimation and financial analysis.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- RICS membership would be desirable but not essential.
What you’ll get in return
You will be offered a permanent position with a salary of circa £75,000. Other benefits include £5,000 car allowance, 25 days holiday + B/H, healthcare.
