Senior Mechanical Project Manager

An award winning national M&E contractor with a network of 21 offices across the UK who employ over 1,000 staff are looking to grow their Southern team. Working with national building contractors they can offer the chance to work on a wide range of projects across the defence, education, healthcare, commercial & leisure sectors.

An opportunity to join their Southampton team as mechanical project manager where you will become part of a well established high performing team.

Your new role

As a senior project manager, you will:

• Enforce high standards of safety and quality on your site(s)
• You will have strong comprehensive knowledge of mechanical systems.
• Manage all resources, including labour, plant, materials, and supply chain.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Prepare and review technical specifications, drawings, calculations, and reports.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technicians.
• Ensure compliance with all regulations and best practices.
• Work in mixed collaborative teams to deliver major projects.
• Add value to projects through innovation and value management.
• Hold the Principal Contractor responsibility under the CDM Regulations

What you’ll need to succeed

• Experience working with a principle contractor or large subcontractor
• Proven people management experience with the ability to mentor and develop team members
• Proven technical knowledge of Mechanical Services
• Knowledge and skills to effectively problem solve
• A keen desire to continually develop knowledge further
• Be self-motivated, with proven organisational ability and the drive to meet deadlines
• Customer focused with the ability to communicate effectively with clients
• Attention to Health and Safety matters
• Commercially astute
• Degree or equivalent in an Mechanical discipline is desirable
